Just Keep Going

Yesterday while driving home my family and I came across a really heavy rain. It was an intense hail storm. You could barely see in front of you. Now, I must admit, my first thought was "why don't we just pull over and wait for it to stop?" Because it was scary. But my father is an experienced driver, and safety is always first on his list so I thought that if he thought we should keep going then we probably should. Five minutes later we were out of the rain and back to clear skies. And my mom said something that kind of blew my mind. She said "imagine all the people that decided to stop in that rain, who knows how long they're going to wait when they could have just kept going." And then it hit me!!

In life we all go through storms, heavy storms where you can't see where your foot is going to land. Some of us choose to wait it out, stay in the storm, some even camp there. All in the name of waiting it out, waiting for it to get better. But what if you chose to keep walking, keep driving? What if the sunshine is only 5m away, but you wouldn't know because you can't see?

On the first Wednesday of 2017 I want to encourage you and say that when you come to your first storm of 2017, you need to keep going. Keep going, because your sunshine is at the end of that storm. You may have your own thoughts and fears, but our Father in Heaven is more experienced. He has been God a long time. God has seen a couple of storms and trust me when I say that none of them scare Him. So trust Him when He tells you to keep going, trust that He knows what He is doing. Remember that you only have the earthly perspective, but He has the heavenly perspective. He knows the beginning and the end, which means that He knows when your storm will start and He knows when it will end. So keep walking, keep driving because it won't last forever.
